[2:34 PM] Yesterday was my
birthday. 19. I did exactly what I've wanted to do for a while.
Absolutely nothing. Roy and I played video games from about 6 until
about midnight.
My mom and dad sent me
a package full of stuff on Wednesday. It was pretty funny. They sent me
some underwear (which I was running on very short supply of), an
animal balloon kit, some snacks, other assorted things, and a silly
string gun...

Awesome.....
Roy bought
me an Edward Scissorhands poster, but that was a while back. The reason
for it was because we were talking about how great a director Tim Burton
is, but all the movies he has directed have been remakes or don't truly
exemplify his style. We came to the conclusion that Edward Scissorhands
is Tim Burton's defining movie and definitely his best work. We also
concluded that having an Edward Scissorhands poster in our room would be
sweet.
I'm
getting a supersweet present from Emily sooner or later. I have no idea
what it is. She sent it to me straight from the manufacturer, but it
hasn't gotten here yet. |

[3:00 PM] I know it's been
a while, but I've got good reason. These past two weeks have been so so
so busy. I had 2 papers and 2 tests last week to get ready for. Needless
to say, the things that have happened to me over my absence need not be
recounted on this, or any other, day. They are very boring.
One fun thing did
happen last week though. Saturday night some friends and I went out
and had a "Banquet Alternative" thing (the same night as the freshman
banquet). Roy and Tiffany, Chad and Sarah, Lee and Rachel, Melissa and
Lindsey, Johnathan, and I all went to Zio's and then some other stuff
just happened. We were going to go to a Jazz club after Zio's, but we
all had to be 21. That was out of the question. Well, right across the
riverwalk from Zio's was a different jazz club that just happened to be
open air and just happened to have a live band playing that night. Lucky
us. We all talked and had general nonsense outside of Zio's for a while.
We walked around the area a little and discovered an empty playground.
More general nonsense. Then we walked 500 miles back to our (illegally)
parked cars, drove to Tai-Pei, got smoothies, and then went back home.
FUN! And now, the coup-de-grace! PICTURES!

The girls
guys are ready for the ball banquet!
(Me, Lee, Johnathan, Roy, Chad)

I'm too sexy for my gas
bill.
But, I'm much too sexier for being arrested, so I paid them.

Chad and Sarah
If they were any cuter together I think I'd cry...wait that's nausea,
excuse me for a moment.

This is our favorite hang
out spot.
That was my lamest line ever.

Have you seen a statue
move? I have.

Lee and Rachel being
cute....awwwww....

Like hot chicks?! HECK YES
I DO!
(Lindsey, Me, Melissa)
.jpg)
A split second later
Johnathan was on the ground. Funny stuff.
.jpg)
Tiffany looking very
beautiful.
Roy looking very...retarted.
Well,
that's it for the pictures, I think that gives you a pretty good idea of
how much fun we had. Some
other
fun
stuff happened too. ;)
I've added
a couple new art shots to my art gallery from the trip as well. Those
were just random pictures that I thought looked really good and I
decided to Photoshop them. For the one in the alleyway, Roy was coming
back to join the group after having walked down it and I caught him and
told him to walk back down it and come back. All of them turned out
super cool, but the one I used really stood out among the others.
Sorry for
the lack of quality on some of the pictures, I've only got 30 megs to
work with right now, and that's not too much considering that I like to
put pictures up.
That's it.
Have fun in life. |

4-6-05
[4:20 PM] Sooner than I
thought. Here's what happened yesterday. I'll detail it by hours so you
can get the grasp of how much time passed yesterday.
Hour 1: I wake up to a
somewhat nice morning and go to Fundamentals. I finish preparing the
second to last project on my robot. It's almost done! I play around with
it a little, trying to get kinks worked out with the motors.
Hour 4: I can't pay
attention to the guy in chapel. He talks to fast. I'm taking a nap.
Hour 6: OH NO! I forgot
my assignment for Calc III. I accidentally left it in the room, I'll be
right back.
Hour 6.07: OK! *huff* I
got *huff* it. Here *huff*...
Hour 9: Physics lab is
winding down and we're about to leave. I realize tomorrow is the day to
sign up for housing next semester. I'm going back to my room and try to
get a hold of Lee, Roy, and Joey. If we want a spot in the new dorms,
we're going to need a plan.
Hour 10: I'm going to
go eat with Johnathan, Lee, and Marshall. I IMed Johnathan asking him if
he was going to dinner. He said yeah, so I told him I'd be over there in
16 seconds. I ran over there. It took 15 seconds. Disappointment.
Hour 11: I'm in Lee's
room playing video games. I came over here to do homework, but Roy had a
game pause on his computer while he was playing a Nintendo game. It was
calling to me, and I'm not one to deny a call.
Hour something: The
power just went out. We were honestly just about to do our homework too.
Joey's calling, hold on.
Hour something.07:
We're going to Starbucks to get coffee. Johnathan, Ryan, Roy, Lee, Joey,
and I. Fun.
Hour something else:
Rachel Yeakly and Shannon Maloney came to Starbucks while we were there.
They said they were going to go to Ihop, so we went back to campus and
got our homework and went to Ihop. Johnathan, Roy, Lee, and I went. Ryan
and Joey stayed back. We never saw them there, and since we were done we
just decided to head back. John Lee called us and told us the power came
back on, so there was no reason to stay.
Hour foxtrot: We
finally started on our homework. I think it's about 1. We decided that
it was best just to stay up all night since we were going to wake up
really early to get a spot in line for housing next semester. We're
taking our time on the homework. Lee is talking to Rachel, and we're all
collectively having a good conversation in general. Homework can wait.
Hour 23: We finally
finished the homework. I'm going to head back to my room to take a
shower. Johnathan wimped out on us and took a nap. I'm coming back to
Lee's room when I'm done.
Hour 25: Going to
breakfast.
Hour 25.5: We're in the
lobby of the girls dorm that the housing reservation office is in. There
was quite a few people here when we walked in.
Hour 26.4: Jessica
Estes got here a while ago. Everybody is filling out forms and signing
this waiting list to get signed up. All of us are on the second page at
the top. We have a long wait.
Hour 27: Waiting. I'm
losing my voice for some reason too.
Hour 27.5 Well, we
finally made it out. Roy and I have a suite with Johnathan and Ryan on
the second floor. If neither of them gets RA, next semester should be
more fun than a barrel of slightly decomposing fish. My voice is also
completely gone now. This is really wierd.
Hour 28.5: I didn't
realize how tired I was. I was really hyper in the waiting line, but now
that I'm in bible class, I'm finding it hard to keep my eyes open.
Hour 29: Same chapel
guy as yesterday. Sleep time.
Hour 30.5: Quiz in
Mechanics, didn't finish it. It was only one problem.
Hour 32.5: Last night,
Roy said something I'm realizing is very true. He said that once you
reach a certain amount of time awake, you start to hallucinate. Well, I
started hallucinating in Calc III. It's a really weird feeling. All of a
sudden I'm in Trey world for a second and something really bizarre
happens, but I realize it's bizarre and I snap out of it. It was like
little brief flashes of what my world would be like. I was leaning my
head on my hand, and all of a sudden, I see a flash of the person to my
right handing me a piece of paper. I reach out to grab it with the hand
my head is resting on and I snap out of it, but I do one of those crazy
body spazzes. One of those spazzes you do when you think you're falling
and you try to catch yourself, but you're not actually falling, so you
end up looking like an idiot.
Hour 35: I just
finished updating my site.
That's how it went.
Quite possibly one of the strangest days I've ever had on this planet. I
don't know when I'll get any sleep. Maybe tonight. Maybe tomorrow night.
I HAVE TOO MUCH TO DO! AH!
[2:39 PM] Sorry for not
updating. I've been busy, and currently am. This is a preliminary post
to the post I'm going to make later. Today and yesterday (today for me
still) have been so crazy. I've got assignments to complete before 5,
however, so those take precedence. I'll post the story probably around 6
if I'm diligent about it. |

[5:37 PM] My motivation to
work on this site is slowly diminishing. meh.
Tuesday was probably
the highlight of my week (tonight may take the cake, but it hasn't
happened yet.). Had a delightful dinner in the caf. Afterwards we all
went to the mall. I got this new comic which is pretty sweet. That was
fun. Went to Lee and Roy's room afterward and played Super Smash Bros.
for a long time (Lee sucks, I'm so much better than him :P ). Wednesday
night I went to Braums. That was great. I fit into one of the high
chairs there. Legs and all. Kendon took pictures, so I'll see if I can't
get copies from him. Tonight, I PLAY! LAN party in Lee and Roy's room.
WOO! |

3-26-05
[11:17 PM] I just finished
watching, quite possibly, one of the best movies I've ever seen in my
life. Fight Club. Some of you may have heard of it. Now, I watched the
first half of it over spring break on TV, and I really enjoyed it.
Today, since I had some free time, I decided I'd watch the whole thing,
since I knew Marshall had it. I liked what I saw over spring break. I
love what I saw today. I LOVE it. I'm going to say something twice
now. The reason I'm going to say it the first time is because I was
shocked. The reason I'm going to say it the second time is because it
was completely incredible. Fight Club has a happy ending.
Fight Club has a happy ending. I am Jack's complete surprise.
End.
I also watched this
movie called Warriors of Heaven and Earth which was extremely
cool if you're into the whole Chinese sword fighting thing. It was along
the same lines as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Hero, and
The House of Flying Daggers. It's rated R, but only because the MPAA
has some weird rules about violence in movies. Things like blood being
in a single scene for more than 4 seconds or something of the sort will
get a movie an automatic R rating, even if the rest of the movie would
have gotten a PG. You may say this is stupid, but it's actually a good
thing. This allows film makers to get an easy R rating for movies that
are aimed at an adult audience. This makes the movie more attractive to
their target demographic because there won't be as many kids and
teenagers going to it. The reason this movie got an R is because the
people who paid to localize the movie to America made the decision to
not cut any material from the original. Since China has different rules
for their film rating system than we do, most movies brought across the
lake from there get an R rating. Just thought I'd share that with you. I
am Jack's useless bits of knowledge. |

[8:28 PM] The past two
days have been in-freaking-sane. Yesterday I spent 9 and a half
hours doing homework for mechanics and then another two or so hours for
physics II. That's 11 hours and 30 minutes of homework. I'm going to say
that one more time because the sheer magnitude of that amount of time
bears that it be repeated. 11 hours and 30 minutes. I finished it
though. All 3 problems of mechanics. 5 out of 6 problems on physics. The
physics really didn't matter though because my body decided to not wake
up in time for class. I woke up at 9:03, class ended at 9:00. Oh well.
Yesterday was also a lot of fun though. At about 10:30 Joey, Roy, Lee,
and I all piled into my car and made a Starbucks run. Then Roy and I
watched this movie called Run, Lola, Run. That movie is
incredible. If you don't mind foreign flicks, watch it, it's amazing. I
got to bed around 3. That's why I overslept.
Today was pretty good
too. I went home after mechanics (which I had a quiz in that I would
like to forget) to pick up my t-shirts and my poster that I accidentally
left at home (the Episode III one). I'm wearing one of the t-shirts and
the poster is hanging up on my wall. Pretty sweet. I just got done
eating Tai Pei takeout and watching Russian Ark with Roy. That was fun.
Russian Ark was pretty amazing. It's a 96 minute movie all shot in one
take. AMAZING.
Oh, I forgot. Something
funny happened last night. As I was getting back into my car after
leaving Starbucks, I hit my head on the corner off the door. It left a
noticeable little whelp on my forehead. Thankfully I have long hair, so
I a little bit of a shield against my idiocy becoming known to the rest
of the world. |

3-23-05
[10:32 PM] Today was
AWESOME! *I have secretly replaced the meaning of the word awesome with
the meaning of atrocious*
I'm not entirely sure
why it was so bad, but it was. Oh well, Maybe a good nights sleep will
make everything all nice and tingly in the morning.
[4:23 PM] I'm getting
back into the swing of things now. Work is piling up again and I'm
getting busier and busier. I don't really have too much to say right
now, so I'm going to go wallow in self loathing for a little while then
head to dinner possibly. |

3-21-05
[6:30 ish PM] I've got a
city named after me! Check it out [here]!
[6:06 PM] Gosh, I want
to do something cool and innovative on the site, but I can't think of
anything. Hmmm....*this is me thinking*
[10:35 AM] I want to do
something new on the site. I think I'm going to add a review section
where I give my opinion on music, movies, books, and games. I don't know
if I'm actually going to do this, but I may.
If you'd like to write
something about yourself and have me put it up on my friends page, I'd
be more than happy to. Just tell me and I'll put it up. If you have
something else you'd like to contribute to the site, please, tell me.
I'm all up for new content.
[10:12 AM] I got part of
the me section up. I took those pictures this past Friday, so they're
very recent. I may put some more up in there tonight. The second half of
this page is going in the archive now, it's getting too large.
New Link on the left.
If you've ever wondered what it looked like to pop a water balloon in
zero gravity, check it out. Two new thoughts. Kenna rocks my face off.
That's what I've been listening to a lot lately if you haven't caught on
yet.
P.S. SIGN MY FRICKIN'
GUESTBOOK! |

3-18-05
[2:10 AM] I added
three new links on the left there. The third one is pretty cool if your
a trendy software nerd like me. The first and second ones is a MUST for
everyone who sees this. I'll take a second to explain the concept of the
second, then the first..
ElectricSheep.org is
all about visualizing the collective dreams of computers. What it is is
a screensaver that shows really really really trippy animations for you
(the site has some screenshots). Whenever your screensaver goes up, your
computer connects to a server and the server harnesses the idle
processing power of your computer to help generate new sheep (the
animations). A new sheep is generated every 15 minutes. This is all
based off a novel by Philip Dick called "Do Androids Dream of Electric
Sheep?" I cannot stress how cool this is to me. That's it.
The first one is a
Nutrigrain commercial. I'm not sure how to describe it or what to think
about it, but it's freakin' HILARIOUS. You'll be saying I feel great for
weeks after you watch this, not even joking.

3-17-05
[9:30 PM] I'M GONNA
REDESIGN THE SITE!
Just kidding.
I AM going to do
something different that may take a while to implement. I'll explain it
for those of you who care. If you don't care, then go stare at a rock or
something for a few minutes while I explain.
OK! I have this page
set up so that this cell is actually a separate HTM file than the rest
of the page. I got the genius idea earlier today to do that with EVERY
page, so that I can have one HTM file be the layout for the page. This
way, I could easily change the layout of the whole site whenever I
wanted. This would also make for easier updating and make putting up new
pages and sections a lot easier. I'm going to test it out to see if it
will actually function and look the way I want it to before I start
putting it into effect.
[9:28 PM] *BORED*
[8:54 PM] Today was
good. Watched Anchorman and This is Spinal Tap over at Barry's house
with Barry, Emily and Gregg.
I updated the links
page with friend's websites and Xangas. Last night I got all the
artwork I'm going to put up, up. I had more, but some of it was too hard
to photograph and/or I was embarrassed for people to see (I wasn't
always mediocre).
I've been realizing
something about myself over the past few days. I've started noticing the
reason I'm happy most of the time, and it's kind of depressing
ironically. I've been listening to this song by Kenna called "I'm Gone."
I love this song and it never ceases to make me happy when I listen to
it, but one of the lines says, "happiness is being numb." That's why I'm
happy a lot. I'm an optimist wrapped in a cynic's body. I always have
been, but I've reached a point where hardly anything bothers me anymore.
I've seen the truth in things for so long that the truth no longer
depresses me. I've become so numb to the things in my life that suck,
and all that's left is my inner optimist. So from now on, ahoy optimism!
I feel weird writing
about some things in this, because I want to say things that may hurt
(or help) my relationships with other people. I need to sort out some
things in my mind before I can be completely open about my feelings,
which is a problem I've always had, on this *thing*. I say thing because
it's not exactly a blog and saying site in that sentence really doesn't
feel right.
Seeing how long this
thing is getting, I think I may start up the Archive.
Does anyone else feel
weird about taking pictures of people? I really want to take pictures of
my friends, but I feel weird for some reason. Maybe I need to be more
apathetic and just have some fun. |
|
3-16-05
[4:47 PM] The writings
page now has some meat in it, so head on over there and check that out.
I went on a buying
spree today, sad to say. I bought 3 movies and 2 t-shirts. I bought Dawn
of the Dead, Dumb and Dumberer, and Big Fish. The 2 t-shirts were from
threadless.com. I got [Emotional
Trip] and [God
Hates Techno].
Expect some much due
art to show up in the art gallery tonight. I'm going to take digitals of
my drawings from my drawing class at Cameron. I think that's all that'll
be going up tonight, I will notify you if I change my mind and decide to
put more up. |
